Rajinikanth discharged from Chennai hospital after heart procedure

Superstar Rajinikanth was discharged from Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on October 3 at around 11 pm. The actor underwent an elective procedure in his heart to treat swelling in a blood vessel. According to the medical bulletin, a stent was placed in the aorta using the transcatheter method. After a successful procedure on October 1, he was under observation for two days at the hospital.
According to sources, Rajinikanth has been advised to rest by his doctors for a couple of weeks. He is expected to resume work on director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie once he gets a go ahead from his doctors.
Rajinikanth’s fans expressed their happiness at this news and wished Thalaivar a speedy recovery.
On October 1, Apollo Hospitals shared a medical bulletin, which read, “Mr Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road, on 30th September 2024. He had a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart (Aorta), which was treated by a non surgical transcatheter method. Senior Interventional Cardiologist Dr Sai Satish placed a stent in the aorta completely sealing off the swelling (Endovascular Repair). We would like to lit his well-wishers and fans know that the procedure went, as planned. Mr Rajinikanth is stable and is doing well. He should be home in two days (sic).”

On the work front, Rajinikanth will be seen next in director TJ Gnanavel’s Vettaiyan. The film will hit theatres on October 10 amid massive fanfare and anticipation. The commercial entertainer also features Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan and Ritika Singh in pivotal roles.
Thalaivar has been shooting for Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie for the past few weeks. He wrapped up a schedule in Visakhapatnam and returned to Chennai ahead of Vettaiyan’s audio launch on September 20.
